What is EcoVan.org?
The mission of EcoVan.org is to promote ecological ethics, lifestyles, build materials, and products within the nomadic, travel, and Vanlife communities.
what we offer:
EcoVan.org is a Resource for building a DIY Camper Van
There are many, many aspects to consider when building a truly ecological camper van including materials, design, and construction. EcoVan.org is a resource for ideas and products to inspire and empower you to build your own ecological home-on-wheels.
The information on this website was initially collected through the process of building the world’s most eco-friendly adventure van: The Vitruvian Van. Through the process of crafting the Vitruvian Van, builder Christopher Ives poured over the internet, spoke with government scientists, did experiments in the garage, spoke with industry experts, and carefully pieced together a collection of resources for building an Eco Van. The resources and insight he collected are now available on EcoVan.org, free for you and the world.
And if you get stuck, we’re here to help you out!
EcoVan.org is a Vanlife RESOURCE for Ecological Living on the Road
Once your build is complete, EcoVan.org is here to support you in your efforts to live ecologically on the road, too. We have tips and ideas for reducing waste, clutter, and your impact on the land. We also dive into what ‘ecology’ actually means, why it should matter to everyone, and how to apply this perspective to different aspects of your nomadic life — especially for your road-based adventures out in Nature! Whether you are a weekender, full-timer, or tent camper, you’ll find useful tips and information on EcoVan.org.
New articles are coming out all the time, but you’ll find the Living Resources section of the site is a good place to start.

Whos is writing EcoVan.org?
Hello! The website was created and is currently being written by me, Christopher Ives. I built the world’s most eco-friendly van — The Vitruvian Van — and collected these resources to help others do the same. You can expect a new article every week or so. You can follow my adventures and check out my art on Instagram or on my website.
Do you have an idea for an article? Do you want to write an article for EcoVan.org? Do you have a correction? Want to see your product or organization featured in our offerings? I’m very open to working with others to expand this resource. Please reach out.
